Overview
With the Duplicate option, you create a copy of your current dashboard in your account. This is ideal if you want to set up specific analyses without changing your original dashboard. When duplicating, you can also turn any currently active temporary filters into permanent filters in the copy.
Accessing the Function
To use the duplicate feature, go to Dashboards in the main menu. Open the dashboard you want to copy, then click the three-dot button in the top right to open the context menu. Alternatively, you can right-click inside the dashboard area to open the same menu.
Step-by-Step Guide
Open the menu (either via the three-dot button or by right-clicking) and select Duplicate.
If there's a temporary filter (date range or other) active, a confirmation dialog will appear asking if you want to include this filter in the duplicate:
- Select "Yes" to make all active filters permanent in the charts of the copy. The duplicate will automatically have - Filtered added to its name.
- Select "No" to create a 1:1 copy without filters. This copy will have - Copy added to its name.
After confirming, you'll see an immediate notification that the dashboard has been copied successfully. You'll find the duplicate in your list of dashboards and can make changes as needed.
Settings & Options
Once you've duplicated or shared your dashboard, you can always adjust the copy using the Dashboard Settings. Here you have these options:
- Change the dashboard name – for clearer distinction.
- Set the currency for the dashboard.
- Customise the scorecard display to fit your needs.
Use these settings to tailor each copy and mark them for different users or purposes.
Limitations & Special Notes
- Naming: When you duplicate a dashboard in your own account, the copy will be named with either "- Copy" or (if including filters) "- Filtered" at the end.
Tips & Best Practices
- Set filters before duplicating to create dashboards for special analyses, and carry those filters over into your copy.
- Rename dashboard copies through Dashboard Settings so your team can easily identify them.
- With "Sort Dashboards," you can keep an overview even with many copies and adjust their order as needed.
