Overview
Stock Level Schedules respond to defined stock thresholds and automatically execute actions that you have set up. You can choose between stock data from the Amazon Selling Partner API or Ventoryone. Depending on the inventory, you can define individual measures, such as pausing ads with low stock or increasing bids when you have sufficient stock.
Accessing the Function
In the main menu, go to Schedule and select the Add Schedule button to create a new schedule.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Create a New Schedule
Open the Schedule section and click Add Schedule. This opens the dialog to set up a new schedule.
Step 2: Select Schedule Type
In the creation dialog, look for the Schedule Based On section. Choose KPIs here. This option activates the KPI-based rules, which include Stock Level. Then, select the Marketplace where the schedule should be active.
Step 3: Set Stock Level as KPI
In the Select KPI area, open the Select a Performance KPI dropdown and choose Stock Level.
You can then choose between two sources:
- Stock Level (SP API): Uses the Amazon Selling Partner API. The sub-KPI Fulfillable Inventory is available here.
- Stock Level (Ventoryone): Uses data from Ventoryone. Here you get Current Inventory and Estimated Days in Stock as sub-KPIs.
If an option is greyed out, the necessary connection to Amazon or Ventoryone is missing. Please connect the desired service to proceed.
Step 4: Define Target Selection
Now, in the Apply To (Target) section, specify the campaigns or products to be affected by the rules. You can pick All Campaigns, All Products, or All ASINs, or use filters, such as specific names, tags, or search terms (like “contains”, “is”, or “begins with”). A wide selection means the schedule applies globally, while filters allow you to narrow it to specific items.
Step 5: Set Stock Ranges and Actions
In the Time Periods section, define the ranges for your inventory levels. For each range, you set up an action:
- Use + Add Step to insert additional inventory ranges.
- From the first dropdown, select the Action Type:
- Status: Choose whether campaigns or products should be Activated, Paused, or have the status Keep (leave unchanged).
- Increase Bids: Increase bids by a percentage.
- Increase Budgets: Increase budgets by a percentage.
- Increase Budgets & Bids: Increase both.
- Boost Keywords: Usually not available for Stock Level rules (see Limitations).
You set the exact values per range – for example:
Stock below 5: Pause > 5 to 20: No Change > Above 20: Increase Bids by 10%.
Note that for the “Products” target selection, Boost actions may not always be available. Inventory ranges should be sensible and easy to understand.
Step 6: Review and Save the Schedule
Double-check all your settings. Use Previous and Next to navigate through the steps if needed, and give your schedule a unique name, like “Stock SP – Fulfillable 50+”. Once everything is correct, save the schedule. If fields are missing or your settings are incomplete, saving will be blocked. In that case, check your marketplace, KPI, or target selection.
Limitations & Special Notes
To use this feature, you need an active connection to the Amazon Selling Partner API (for SP API) or Ventoryone. If a connection is missing, the respective stock source is not available as a KPI.
Also note:
- With the “Products” target setting, Boost actions may not be available.
- Adjustments are regularly synchronized in the background, so wait times are normal.
- If important settings like KPI or target selection are incomplete, the schedule cannot be saved.
Tips & Best Practices
- Use clear names for your schedules, ideally including the KPI, stock thresholds, and target.
- Start with just a few, clearly separated inventory ranges and refine your rules as needed.
- Use the Pause option proactively to avoid going out of stock. Only use boosts or reactivation when you have reliable stock levels.
- Carefully review your schedule before saving to prevent misconfiguration.
