Overview
Performance Schedules let your campaigns or products automatically respond to changes in key metrics. You choose the KPI areas – for example, specific BSR values, inventory levels, or search result positions – and define what actions should be triggered. Possible actions include activating, pausing, increasing bids or budgets, depending on your business goals. This ensures your marketing activities are based on up-to-date performance data, without manual intervention.
Accessing the Function
To create a new Performance Schedule, go to the Management menu and select the Schedule section. Click Add Schedule in the top right. This opens the Create Schedule window, where you can configure your new schedule step by step.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Start a New Performance Schedule
Click Add Schedule to begin. The Create Schedule modal opens, guiding you through each step.
Step 2: Set the Basics
First, enter a name in the Schedule Name field. Under Schedule Based On, select KPIs.
Use Marketplaces to choose your target marketplace. In performance mode, only one marketplace can be active at a time – select it by clicking the flag (click again to deselect).
Under Apply To (Target), choose if the schedule applies to Campaigns or Products:
- Campaigns: The schedule controls entire campaigns.
- Products: The schedule manages individual products. Some boost options may not be available for products.
Step 3: Select a KPI
In the Performance section, pick which KPI to monitor:
- Best Seller Rank (BSR), including sub-KPIs for main or sub-categories
- Inventory (SP API) for stock control using the Amazon API
- Inventory (VentoryOne) via VentoryOne integration
- Search Result Position (Share of Voice) – requires a pre-made SOV keyword list
- Sellerboard – use Sellerboard KPIs if connected
If you use BSR, you can also set the Action on Category Change for when your product’s category changes:
- Continue schedule: Keep applying the schedule even if the category changes.
- Reset boost to 0 and stop schedule: Set all boosts to zero and stop the schedule.
- Stop schedule: Stop the schedule immediately.
Depending on your integrations, some KPI options may be disabled. To use a Share of Voice rule, you must first create and select an appropriate keyword list.
Step 4: Choose Products/Campaigns
Decide which campaigns or products the schedule should affect. You can filter by campaign, product, or ASIN. The filter can be “contains,” “does not contain,” “is,” “is not,” or “starts with.” For example, to target products with a specific SKU, enter that in the search box. Adjust your selection using the checkboxes. The preview area shows how many entries will be affected (for example: “Your schedule will include 10 entries.”).
Note: If you create a Performance Schedule for products, you’ll see a notification that Sponsored Brand ads are not currently supported.
Step 5: Set Actions for Each KPI Range
Now define the specific rules for each KPI range. Set ranges – for example, BSR 1–50, 51–100, etc. Click + Add Step to add more ranges. For each range, set the desired action:
Available options are:
- Activate, Pause, No Change (status control)
- Increase bids, Increase budgets, Increase both budgets and bids
For example: if BSR is 1–50, increase bids by 10%; if 51–200, increase by 20%; if 201–1000, decrease by 50%.
Note: Depending on the selected target type, not all boost options may be available. If you choose “Apply to Products,” only status actions are possible.
Step 6: Save
Finish setting up your Performance Schedule by clicking Save. The system will confirm successful creation with a message (“Schedule was created successfully!”).
Settings & Options
- Sort Order: In the Schedule overview, you can set the priority of your schedules. This determines which schedule takes precedence if there is a conflict. Use the “Sort Order” mode to drag and drop schedules and move important rules to the top.
- Add Schedule Folder: Organize your schedules by creating new folders.
Limitations & Special Notes
- Certain KPI sources like “BSR” or “Inventory (SP API)” are only available when the SP API connection is active.
- “Inventory (VentoryOne)” requires an active VentoryOne integration.
- The “Search Result Position (Share of Voice)” function needs pre-set and activated SOV lists.
- Sellerboard KPIs become available only after successful connection of the tool.
- In performance mode targeting “marketplaces,” only one marketplace can be managed at a time.
- For product targets, boost actions are usually limited, but status actions are always available.
- If a product’s BSR category changes, the schedule will indicate it (“BSR category has changed!”). You can react to this via a matching action.
- If there’s a priority conflict, a warning appears: “Schedule contains items with priority conflict!” In this case, review and adjust the schedule order.
Tips & Best Practices
- Decide beforehand whether you mainly want to manage full campaigns or selected products, and pick the right KPI.
- Start with a few clear KPI ranges to make it easier to track effects.
- Always use the preview feature to make sure the correct campaigns or products are targeted.
- Create your SOV keyword lists before applying them in a schedule.
- After setup, double check your schedule list and order to make sure priorities are right.
