Overview

You can rename a dashboard at any time. You can also set the default currency for displayed KPI values and choose whether scorecards show values as "absolute" or as percentage changes ("relative"). These settings help you tailor the display to your internal or external requirements.

Accessing the Function

To rename a dashboard, open the dashboard you want, then open the menu using the menu button (⋮) and select Dashboard Settings.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Select Dashboard

First, use the Dashboard dropdown in the top bar to select the dashboard you want to edit. Once selected, you'll be taken straight to the dashboard's view, and the action menu will be active.
Please note: For an AMC Dashboard (Query), there is no settings menu available.

Step 2: Open Dashboard Settings

Next, click the menu button (⋮) on the dashboard and then select Dashboard Settings. A window will open, allowing you to edit the name, currency, and scorecard mode.

Step 4: Change Dashboard Name

In the settings window, you can edit the "Dashboard Name" field. Enter the new name you'd like to use (up to 40 characters). The updated name will appear in both the dashboard dropdown and at the top of the dashboard.
You can't leave this field empty; it's technically required and saving is not possible otherwise.

Step 5: (Optional) Set Dashboard Currency

With the "Dashboard Currency" dropdown, you can choose which currency is used for monetary values. The options are:

  • Use Account Currency (default): Shows all amounts in your account's default currency.
  • Custom Currency (e.g., EUR, USD): Shows all amounts exclusively in the selected currency.

This option is especially useful if you want to prepare dashboards specifically in a certain currency – for example, for stakeholders in different countries.

Step 6: (Optional) Select Scorecard Display Mode

Use the "Scorecard Display Mode" dropdown to decide how scorecard values are shown:

  • Absolute: Scorecards show values like budgets or actuals as absolute numbers by default.
  • Relative: Scorecards show changes as percentages by default, which is useful for trend comparisons.

You can choose the setting that best fits your reporting needs – for example, if you want to focus on relative development.

Step 7: Save Changes

Finally, click Update to save your changes. If you don't want to make a change, you can cancel to close the window without saving.
After saving, the charts may reload briefly, especially if you changed the currency or scorecard mode.

Settings & Options

Dashboard settings always apply to the selected dashboard only. Changes to the name, currency, or display mode will not affect other dashboards.

Limitations & Special Notes

  • For AMC Dashboards, the Dashboard Currency and Scorecard Display Mode fields are not available. However, you can still change the name.
  • The Dashboard Name field is mandatory and cannot exceed 40 characters.
  • After clicking Update, the page may briefly reload so new settings are displayed correctly.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use clear, descriptive names like "Q4 Performance EU (EUR)" so you can quickly identify dashboards in the dropdown menu.
  • Choose the Dashboard Currency based on your audience: for example, use EUR for internal departments in Europe and USD for international clients.
  • The Relative scorecard display mode is perfect for quick trend comparisons, while Absolute is best for budget or target-to-actual comparisons.
  • After renaming a dashboard, check if export features and communication templates reflect the new name correctly.
