Overview
The Segment Performance feature provides a clear overview of key metrics (such as ACOS, Paid Sales, CPC, CTR) for a single segment. The performance chart displays how these values develop over your selected time period. You can also freely combine two KPIs to analyze their trends and interaction over time. This allows you to see even more quickly whether the measures set up for a segment are delivering the desired results.
Accessing the Function
To use Segment Performance, first navigate to Segment Management. There you’ll find an overview of all existing segments. Open the desired segment card and click the three-dot menu (⋮). Then select Segment Performance. This instantly opens the analysis view with all available historical data.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Select the Right Segment
Within Segment Management, you’ll see a list of all available segments. Check if Automations or Rules are active for the segment – this is indicated by “Active” or “Inactive” next to the segment name. The Marketplace entry shows which marketplace’s performance data is being collected. If you work with multiple marketplaces, first select the marketplace you wish to analyze to ensure you are reviewing the correct data.
Step 2: Open Segment Performance
Open the menu (⋮) of your chosen segment card and click on Segment Performance. A separate window with the segment history chart will open.
Step 3: Compare KPIs
In the opened view, you’ll find two dropdown menus to select your desired metrics. For example, you might set ACOS on the left and Paid Sales on the right to simultaneously assess efficiency and revenue. Available dropdown options include ACOS, Total ACOS, Costs, CPC, CTR, Impressions, CVR, ROAS, and Paid Sales. The selected KPI will be hidden from the other dropdown to avoid duplication.
Step 4: Set the Time Period
With the Date button, you can choose your preferred date range. This determines for which period the performance chart displays your metrics’ trends. Commonly used periods are the past 7 or 30 days. Once you make a selection, the chart will update automatically.
Step 5: Analyze the Results
The chart displays two lines – one for each selected KPI. The axes and units adjust to the displayed metrics. Color coding helps you differentiate values, such as percentage rates from revenue figures. If no data is present for your chosen time frame, an empty chart will appear. In that case, you can either adjust the period or choose other metrics.
Settings & Options
On each segment card, before opening Segment Performance, you can select the Marketplace to focus the history view on a specific platform. The status of Automation or individual rules does not affect the display but can help you later interpret chart data – for example, to trace changes after a rule modification.
Limitations & Special Notes
- Segment Performance is only available if historical data exists for your segment. If not, you’ll be notified that the dashboard cannot be displayed.
- The recency of values depends on the data update interval – immediate changes might only appear after a short delay.
- If you have multiple marketplaces, the chart only displays data for the currently selected marketplace.
Tips & Best Practices
- It’s best to choose an efficiency metric (like ACOS) on the left and a volume metric (like Paid Sales) on the right to quickly identify the effects of your actions.
- Compare different time frames, such as the last 7 and 30 days, to distinguish between short-term fluctuations and long-term trends.
- Check that you’ve selected the correct marketplace before opening Segment Performance – this way you’ll immediately start with the right analysis.
- After adjusting automations or rules, it’s worth reviewing trends again to see the targeted effects.
- If no data appears for certain KPIs in your chosen period, try expanding the time frame or select other metrics.
