Overview
You can set the currency shown in each dashboard individually, for example to “EUR (€)” or “USD ($)”. The selected currency applies to all cards and KPIs in that dashboard. Alternatively, you can use your account’s default currency to provide a consistent view for all users.
Accessing the Function
To change the currency for a dashboard, open the desired dashboard first. Then click on the three dots menu in the top bar and go to Dashboard Settings to access the relevant options.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Open Dashboard Settings
Start by opening the dashboard where you want to change the currency. Click the three dots button in the top right corner and select Dashboard Settings from the menu. This opens the settings window where you can update the name, currency, and scorecards for the dashboard. Please note: If you have read-only access, the settings will be disabled. In this case, you’ll see a notice and cannot save any changes.
Step 2: Select Currency
In the settings window, find the Dashboard Currency field. Click it to open a dropdown menu with several options:
- Use account currency (default): Select this to use your account’s default currency for the dashboard. This is useful if you want multiple dashboards in a consistent currency format for your team or clients.
- Fixed currency (e.g., EUR (€), USD ($)): If you want the dashboard to display in a single specific currency, choose it from the dropdown. This may be useful for reporting in USD or EUR, for example.
This option is not available for AMC dashboards, which always use the account’s default setting.
Step 3: Save Changes
After selecting the desired currency, click Update to save your changes. The dashboard will briefly reload and then show all values in the chosen currency. Click Cancel to close the settings without saving. If you made no changes, the window will simply close without reloading the dashboard.
Settings & Options
You can set your account’s default currency in the account settings under Language & Currency. Any dashboard set to ‘Use account currency (default)’ will automatically use this setting.
Limitations & Special Notes
- AMC dashboards do not allow individual currency selection. They always use the default set in your account settings.
- The selected currency applies only to the current dashboard. It does not affect other dashboards and only changes the display and formatting of values in cards and KPIs – not the calculations or the data source itself.
- After saving, the dashboard will briefly reload so changes are reflected everywhere.
Tips & Best Practices
- Use ‘Use account currency (default)’ if you want a unified view across multiple dashboards for your organization or team.
- If you need custom currency display for special reporting – such as for international clients or different departments – set the dashboard currency to your desired value.
