Where Can I Change the Displayed Account Name?

Change the account name shown next to your avatar and throughout the platform in just a few steps.

Overview

The Account Name controls how your account is displayed in the application. Any changes you make to this name are applied immediately in the top navigation bar and anywhere else your account name appears on the platform.

Accessing the Function

To change your displayed account name, click on the User Menu at the top right of the main navigation next to your name or avatar. In the dropdown, select Account Settings. Inside Account Settings, navigate to Personal Settings via the left sidebar menu.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open Account Name

Click on the User Menu at the top right (the arrow next to your name or avatar) and select Account Settings. This takes you to the page with your personal account options.

Step 2: Open the "Personal Settings" section

Select Personal Settings in the left menu. Here, you will see and be able to edit your Account Name.

Step 3: Adjust Account Name

Enter your desired new name in the Account Name field. This name will be displayed as your account and display name across the platform.

If this field is left empty or you enter the same name as before, you will be notified and the name change won’t be saved.

Step 4: Save the Change

Click Update to save your new account name. After saving, a confirmation message will appear and your new name will be shown at the top right. Sometimes, you may need to refresh the page for the update to appear.

If the name can't be changed, is invalid, or is already in use by another account, you’ll receive a notification. In these cases, simply confirm with Ok and choose a different name.

Settings & Options

In Account Settings, you’ll also find additional options, such as Account Email Address, Change Password, Language & Currency, Integrations, and Newsletter Settings, including the Delete Account function. These options are independent of the account name change and should only be updated if you wish to change other account details.

Limitations & Special Notes

  • The Account Name is required, can be up to 255 characters long, must be different from your current name, and can’t be used by another account.
  • The updated name will appear throughout navigation and in account lists. In some cases, you may need to reload the page for the update to be visible everywhere.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Choose an Account Name that clearly represents your business, team, or purpose.
  • Avoid overly long names – even though you can use up to 255 characters. Shorter names keep navigation clear and easy to use.
  • After changing your account name, check the display at the top right and refresh the page if the change isn’t visible right away.
