Overview

An ad segment is the central unit in BidX where you can group and precisely control all relevant campaign elements. You decide which campaigns, ad groups, keywords, ASINs, or portfolios belong to your segment and can set up targeted automations and custom rules for these. With this, you can implement campaign goals, brand focus, or specific structural areas independently – for better control and oversight when optimizing.

Accessing the Function

You can find ad segments in Segment Management. From there, you access your existing segments or create new ones.

What Exactly Are Ad Segments?

An ad segment is a unit where you can add any elements that influence your advertising – such as campaigns, portfolios, keywords, or ASINs – using multiple criteria. You can then set up rules and automations at the ad segment level for all contained items. This logic allows you to pursue very specific marketing goals in a streamlined way.

For example, you could group all your brand protection campaigns in one segment and then set up general rules or automations that apply to all your brand protection campaigns.

However, rules and automations are created on a marketplace-specific basis. So you can pursue different goals within the same ad segment by applying different rules or automations for each marketplace.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Choose clear, meaningful segment names so your team members can immediately understand their purpose.
  • Use Edit Prioritization to set the order in which your segments take effect.
  • Always check which Marketplace you are working in before creating rules, to make sure the actions are assigned to the correct market.
  • Regularly track Segment Performance to monitor your segment’s development and the impact of your rules or automations.
