What Are the Allowed Minimum and Maximum Bids?

Amazon sets technical minimum and maximum values for bids and budgets in every ad account. Values outside these limits are not accepted.

Amazon defines technical minimum and maximum values for bids and campaign budgets for every advertising account. This includes, for example, the daily campaign budget, default ad group bids, and keyword bids. Values outside these ranges are not accepted by Amazon.

What Does This Mean for BidX?

All changes to bids and budgets are transmitted to Amazon via the Amazon Ads API. BidX cannot override these limits set by Amazon. If a modified value is outside the permitted range, Amazon will reject it when transmitted.

To prevent this from happening, all adjustments in BidX are limited to the allowed values within the current minimum and maximum set for each marketplace and ad type. This applies to manual changes as well as changes made by our algorithm and all other functions.

Where Are Minimum and Maximum Bids Defined and Can I View Them?

Amazon sets minimum and maximum values for all relevant ad types, bids, and budgets. For Sponsored Products, this includes keyword bids, daily campaign budgets, and default ad group bids, for example.

The specific limits depend on several factors, including:

  • The marketplace and currency (e.g., different values in MX than in DE)
  • Ad type (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, DSP)
  • Entity type (e.g., Ad Group, Keyword)
  • Billing model (e.g., CPC)

In its API documentation, Amazon shows in tables that, for example, Sponsored Products keyword bids often start at a minimum bid of around 0.02 units of the respective currency and can reach a high four-figure maximum amount. For other formats such as Sponsored Display or DSP, Amazon also provides main limit tables with the allowed ranges.
