Overview

Aggregation determines the time interval for summarizing your data in the dashboard. Instead of daily evaluations ("Daily"), you can set many charts to "Weekly" or "Monthly." This makes seasonal patterns, trends, and developments more visible. Aggregation is set individually for each chart so you can customize your dashboard as needed.

Accessing the Function

To change the aggregation, open your Dashboard. You can either adjust existing charts or add a new chart with your preferred settings. You will find the aggregation selection in the chart configuration dialog under Time Unit:.

Step-by-Step Guide

Changing Aggregation on an Existing Chart

To change the aggregation of an existing chart, hover over the desired chart card and open the Actions menu. Select Configure. In the dialog, ensure that Grouping (x-axis) is set to “Date.” Only then does the Time Unit: setting appear.

Here you can select from the following options:

  • Daily: Data is displayed for each day. This is great for short-term analysis or detailed evaluations.
  • Day of Week: Data is grouped across all days based on the day of the week (Monday to Sunday). This helps you spot patterns between different weekdays.
  • Weekly: Data is grouped into calendar weeks. This setting reduces daily noise and is ideal for medium timeframes.
  • Monthly: Monthly aggregation is perfect for long-term overviews or reporting purposes.

After choosing your desired time unit, save your changes by clicking Update.

If the x-axis is not a time dimension (for example, “Keyword”), the Time Unit: option will not appear. In that case, select an appropriate time-based grouping for the x-axis first.

Create a New Chart with Weekly or Monthly View

To create a new chart directly, click Add Element at the top of the dashboard. In the setup dialog, choose your desired dimensions.

  • For Grouping (x-axis), select a time dimension such as “Date.”
  • In Time Unit:, determine whether you want the aggregation to be “Daily,” “Weekly,” “Monthly,” or “Day of Week.”
  • Under Values (y-axis), pick the key figures you want displayed in the chart.

Save the new chart with Save. It will then be added to your dashboard with the selected aggregation.

Temporarily Filter Date Range (Optional)

To temporarily limit the displayed timeframe, click Temporary: at the top of the dashboard and then Date. Choose your desired date range and activate it. The chosen aggregation (for example, “Weekly”) will remain unchanged – only the data range will be limited.

You can also apply additional filters, such as by marketplace, profile, or campaign.

Temporary filters apply only to the current session and are not saved when you leave or refresh the page.

Settings & Options

In the Temporary: section at the top bar, you have the following settings:

  • Date: Temporarily limit the visible time period for all charts on the dashboard.
  • Filter: Apply more temporary filters, like for marketplace, profile, or campaign.

Limitations & Special Notes

  • Visibility of "Time Unit:": This option only appears if you have chosen a time dimension for Grouping (x-axis).
  • Weekly Aggregation: Weeks align with calendar weeks. Incomplete weeks may be automatically hidden to prevent misleading bars.
  • Data Availability: Right after creating a dashboard, not all data may be available yet. It can take two to three days for the data to be fully populated.
  • Temporary Filters: With Date and Filter, you can temporarily adjust the data set; this does not affect the saved aggregation of your charts.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Switch to Weekly if daily fluctuations distract you and you want to focus on longer-term trends.
  • Use Monthly aggregation especially for management reports or for longer time periods.
  • The Day of Week option helps you spot recurring patterns on specific days, such as differences between weekdays and weekends.
  • Adjust aggregation for each chart according to your analysis goal: some KPIs are best viewed weekly, others monthly for better clarity.
  • Use the Date filter found in Temporary: to limit the analysis period without permanently changing chart settings. This way you can quickly compare different time periods.
