Is It Possible to Change the Names of My Campaigns, Ad Groups, and Portfolios?
Clear and consistent naming makes it easier to analyze, report, and collaborate with your team. Here you'll learn how you can rename campaigns and ad groups in Analytics.
Answer
Yes, you can change the names of your campaigns and ad groups directly in Analytics. To do this, open the campaign details or ad group details dialog by clicking the Edit (pencil) icon, update the name field, and save your changes. After saving, the update is automatically sent to Amazon and will appear in your overview shortly after.
Renaming portfolios through Analytics is currently not possible.
Accessing the Function
You can find rename options in the following sections:
- In Analytics under Campaigns: Use the campaign details dialog to change a campaign name and confirm with Save.
- In Analytics under Ad Groups: Open ad group details, update the name, and confirm with Save.
- There is no renaming feature for portfolios in Analytics.
Settings & Options
In the campaign details and ad group details dialogs, you’ll find additional settings besides the name field. For example, you can adjust the status (such as Enabled, Paused, or Archived) or the daily budget for campaigns. In ad groups, you can also modify the bid, which corresponds to the default bid.
If needed, you may save these settings together with the name change.
Limitations & Special Notes
Changes are processed in the background. Sometimes, the status may briefly show as Processing and then change to Success or show an error message after a short time.
Note: Portfolio names cannot be edited in Analytics.
Tips & Best Practices
- Use consistent and clear naming conventions, for example, Product | Match Type | Audience. Short, descriptive names make searching and filtering easier.
- Avoid frequent renaming so tracking changes and campaign history remains clear.
- After saving, check your overviews to ensure the changes have been applied correctly.
- Pick names that are clear not just for you, but for your whole team.
