How Do Tags Work in Segment Management?

Tags are a simple way to group and edit products. They help you label similar types, variants, or models.

Tags are special labels you can assign to products to help group and filter them, as well as use them in segments.
The central management now takes place under Platform Settings > Edit Tags. There you can:

  • Create new tags (optionally with immediate product assignments)
  • Rename or delete existing tags
  • Add or remove products from an existing tag

This way, you can use tags as a basis for creating segments.

Accessing the Function

To centrally manage tags, go to Platform Settings in the main menu and select Edit Tags.

  • Create a new tag: In the Create New Tag section, enter your desired name in the Tag Name field. Optionally, select products in the Products field. Click Create Tag to set up the tag and, if selected, directly assign it to chosen products.
  • Add products to an existing tag: Expand the desired tag from the tag list. In the Add Products to This Tag section, select products and confirm by clicking Add to Tag.
  • Remove products from a tag: When expanded, each tag displays its assigned products. Click the X next to a product to remove its association with the tag.
  • Rename or delete a tag: In the same list, you can rename or delete each tag using the available actions.

Settings & Options

In Platform Settings > Edit Tags, you have options such as:

  • Create Tag: Creates a new tag, optionally including initial product assignments.
  • Add to Tag: Assigns multiple products at once to an existing tag.
  • Rename Tag: Changes the name globally for all linked products.
  • Delete Tag: Removes the tag system-wide, including all associations.

Limitations & Special Notes

  • The tag name cannot be empty.
  • Tag names must be unique: an existing name cannot be used again for a new tag.
  • When adding products to existing tags, duplicate associations are avoided: a product that already has the tag will not be re-added.
  • Deleting a tag removes it from all associated products and takes effect globally.
