How Do Tags Work?

Tags are a simple way to group and manage your products. They help you identify similar types, variants, or models quickly and easily.

Answer

Tags are special labels that you can assign to one or multiple products. They allow you to group products by relevant criteria, such as all "sneakers" or "sandals." In the Product Settings, you’ll find all products in your selected group, filter them, edit them, or even use them in automated workflows. Tags are flexible: you can add them directly to single products, apply them to multiple products at once, as well as centrally rename or delete existing tags.

You can then create segments based on tags to easily manage your product ads.

Accessing the Function

To use tags, go to Management in the main menu and select Product Settings.

  • To tag a single product, click Add tag in the respective product row. In the field New tag, you can either select an existing tag or enter a new name and confirm.
  • If you want to tag multiple products at once, open the Select action dropdown in the top left and choose Add tag. In the dialog Add tag to multiple products, you can select from existing tags or create a new one with + Add new tag.
  • To manage your tags – that is, to rename or delete them – go to Settings at the top right and select Manage tags. In the tags dialog, you’ll find options for each tag: Rename tag or Delete tag. Here, you can also see how often a tag is currently used.
  • To limit product lists by tag, open the Filter at the top and in the Tag criterion, select the tags you’re interested in.

Settings & Options

In the Manage tags dialog, you can:

  • Rename tag: If you change a tag name, it will be automatically updated for all products using this label.
  • Delete tag: This removes the tag from all affected products and deletes it fully from the system.

In the products toolbar, use:

  • Select action > Add tag to quickly tag multiple products.
  • Settings > Manage tags for making central changes to your tags.

Limitations & Special Notes

  • Tag names cannot be empty: The New tag input must always contain text.
  • Duplicate tag names are not allowed: If you try to rename a tag to an already existing name, you’ll see a warning.
  • A tag can only be added to a product once. If you try to assign the same tag again, nothing will happen.
  • Removing a tag with Delete tag will affect all products and cannot be undone.
