Overview

The reset function lets you regain access to your account if you forgot your password. If you simply want to update your password, you can easily do this after logging in, under Account Settings. Both options help you keep your account secure and up to date.

Accessing the Function

If you've forgotten your password, you can click Forgot Password? on the login page.

If you want to change your password while logged in, you'll find this option under Account Settings in the Personal Settings section, then select Change Password.

Step-by-Step Guide

Forgotten Password: Regain Access

Step 1

First, click Forgot Password? on the login page. A page will open where you can enter your account's email address. Once you click Reset Password, you will receive an email with a link to start the process. You can cancel at any time by clicking Back to Login to return to the sign-in page.

If you've entered the correct email, you'll see a confirmation that the email was sent. If there are issues with the address (such as a typo or unknown address), double-check your entry or try a different email. If your account is deactivated, you may see an extra step to restore access.

Step 2

Open the email you received and follow the provided link. This will take you to the password reset page. Enter your email address and your new password. For security, you will need to confirm the new password by entering it a second time. You can only complete the process by clicking Save Password if both entries match exactly. After that, you will either be logged in automatically or returned to the home page.

If the email link has expired or is invalid, you'll see a notification. In that case, start the password reset process again from the login page. If everything worked, you'll get a confirmation for your new password.

Changing Your Password While Logged In

Log into your account and open Account Settings. Go to Personal Settings and select Change Password. For security, you'll first enter your current password. Then, choose your new password and confirm it by entering it a second time. By clicking the Save button, your new password will be set. You'll receive a confirmation when the change was successful.

If there are issues, the system will provide direct feedback: for example, if your new password is too short, doesn't meet requirements, the confirmation doesn't match, or if the old password was entered incorrectly.

Settings & Options

To further enhance security, you can activate two-factor authentication under Account Settings. In the additional security section, just select one of the available methods and save. While this isn't directly part of changing your password, it provides extra protection for your account.

Limitations & Special Notes

  • Your password must be at least 6 characters long and must match the confirmation exactly. Depending on your user role (for example, as an administrator), more requirements may apply – such as needing both uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, or symbols.
  • To receive a password reset email, you must have access to your registered email address.
  • If the reset email link has already expired, you need to start the process again.

Tips & Best Practices

  • For better security, use a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters in your password.
  • Update your password regularly through Account Settings in the Personal Settings section.
  • Turning on two-factor authentication makes your account even more secure.
