How Do I Limit Bid Management and Keyword Management to Specific Marketplaces?

You can define exactly which marketplaces your Bid Management and Keyword Management apply to. This is especially useful if performance varies across markets or if you want to implement tailored strategies for each region.

Overview

Segments are generally created across all marketplaces, but the actual content of a segment—like Bid Management and Keyword Management—can be controlled separately for each marketplace. When setting up a segment or directly within the segment view, you can select which marketplaces a rule or bid management should apply to. This ensures that marketplace-specific requirements are reliably implemented.

Accessing the Function

To start with marketplace assignment, first go to Segment Management. Within an individual segment, you will find the Marketplace section and actions such as New Bid Management, New Keyword Management, or New One Time Rule, where you can configure marketplace-specific settings.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open a Segment

Navigate to Segment Management and open your desired segment. Within the list for Bid Management or Keyword Management, you will see which marketplaces they apply to.

Step 2: Start New Bid Management or Keyword Management

Create a new Bid Management or Keyword Management within a segment using the three-dot menu () of the segment. Select New Bid Management or New Keyword Management. In the first step of the process, choose the marketplaces for which the rule should apply.

Step 3: Use the Marketplace Filter

Use the Marketplace dropdown at the top of the segment view to select a specific marketplace. Only the Bid Management and Keyword Management rules that have been created for this marketplace will then be shown.

Settings & Options

  • You can select one or more marketplaces per Bid Management or Keyword Management rule.
  • Within a segment, you can create as many rules as needed for different marketplaces.
  • You can adjust the marketplace assignment later: to do this, open the three-dot menu () for the specific rule and choose Edit Automation (for Bid Management automations) or Edit Individual Rules (for Keyword Management rules). In the first step of the dialog, you can then change the marketplaces.

Limitations & Special Notes

  • Segments themselves always include all marketplaces; only their content (Bid and Keyword Management) is marketplace-specific.
  • Relevant marketplace profiles must be connected to use this function.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Create separate Bid Management rules with adapted targets for markets with very different performance.
  • Use the Marketplace filter in the segment view to specifically check rules for a particular market.
