Overview

The Keyword Management Automation handles keyword harvesting for you automatically. It checks daily which search terms or ASINs meet the conditions you set and then moves them to the right campaigns or sets them as negative targets. Unlike individual rules, this automation runs fully automatically without any manual intervention.

Accessing the Function

In Segment Management, open the segment you want. Click the actions menu () for that segment and select New Keyword Management. In the creation dialog, select the type Automation.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Start Keyword Management Automation

Open the actions menu () for the segment and choose New Keyword Management. In the dialog, select Automation as the type. This will open the New Keyword Management setup dialog.

Step 2: General Settings

Give your automation a Name and choose the Marketplaces it should apply to.

Step 3: Define Conditions (Actions)

Set which performance conditions must be met for a keyword or ASIN to be moved or negated. Choose between Match ALL or Match ANY. For each condition, specify the metric, time frame, and comparison value.

You can also select the Match Types the automation should apply to (Auto, Broad, Phrase, Exact, Product, Category).

Step 4: Configure Keyword Management

Go to the section for keyword actions. Edit the default settings or adjust them directly for this rule. Decide, for example, from which source (e.g., Auto) new keywords are moved to which target (e.g., Broad, Phrase) and which match type actions (Positive, Neg. Exact, Neg. Phrase, Neg. ASIN) should be performed.

You can reset your choices at any time using the Reset to Default Settings button.

Step 5: Set Campaign Exclusions (Keyword Management Settings)

In the last step, Campaign Filter: Exclude by Custom Syntax, you can enter name patterns to exclude specific campaigns from keyword harvesting. These exclusions apply to all rules and automations within the same segment.

In the campaign structure preview, you can see how your product's campaigns are linked for keyword management. Use the input field 'Filter by ASIN' for this purpose.

Step 6: Save and Finish

Save the automation by clicking Save. After confirmation, it will appear in the Keyword Management section of your segment and is immediately active.

Limitations & Special Notes

  • You can create up to 100 bid management and keyword management entries per segment.
  • At least one match type must be selected.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use the automation if you want to automate keyword harvesting consistently and based on rules.
  • Check the Campaign Structure Preview in the last step to make sure the right campaigns are linked.
