Overview
The Bid Management Automation continuously adjusts your bids to help you reach your defined target value. Different from individual rules, this automation runs fully automatically every night and does not require manual intervention. You only need to set the target (ACOS, ROAS, or Total ACOS) and the intensity.
Accessing the Function
You can access this feature in two ways: either via New Bid Management directly in the action menu (⋮) of the desired segment in Segment Management, or through Create New Bid Management if the segment does not yet contain any Bid or Keyword Management.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Start Bid Management Automation
Open the action menu (⋮) in your chosen segment and select New Bid Management. This opens the creation dialog New Bid Management.
Step 2: General Settings (Basic Settings)
First, give your automation a Name. Then use the Marketplaces field to select at least one marketplace where the automation should be applied.
Step 3: Define Target Value
Set the target metric by choosing from the dropdown menu: ACOS (%), ROAS, or Total ACOS (%). Enter your desired target value in the input field.
- ACOS (%): The target Advertising Cost of Sale as a percentage.
- ROAS: Return on Ad Spend – the higher the value, the more efficient your spending.
- Total ACOS (%): Refers to a combined value of advertising and organic sales.
Step 4: Choose Automation Intensity
Under Automation Intensity, choose how strong and responsive the automation should be:
- Cautious: Slow and low-risk – waits for more data and makes gentler adjustments.
- Moderate: Balanced adjustments (standard recommendation).
- Dynamic: Fast and significant changes.
If unsure, start with Moderate.
Step 5: Save and Finish
Check all entries and save with Save. After a successful setup, the message "The automation has been created successfully!" appears. The automation is now listed in the segment view under Bid Management.
Settings & Options
- You can edit existing automations at any time using the three-dot menu (⋮) of the automation and Edit Automation.
Limitations & Special Notes
- Make sure to enter at least one Marketplace, a non-empty Name, and a valid Target Value.
- You can add a maximum of 100 Bid Management and Keyword Management entries per segment.
Tips & Best Practices
- Start with Moderate intensity and adjust it later to suit your needs.
- As a starting point, select the target metric ACOS (%). If you want to optimize for efficiency or sales, you can switch to ROAS later.
- Give your automations clear names – for example, including the target and marketplace.
