Overview
Tags are customizable labels for products.
You can centrally manage tags under Platform Settings > Edit Tags. Here, you can create new tags, assign products to existing tags, remove assignments, and manage tag names in one place.
Accessing the Function
Open Platform Settings and go to Edit Tags.
There you can create new tags and see a list of all existing tags along with their product assignments.
Features
- Create a new tag (optionally with products)
In the Create New Tag section, enter a name in the Tag Name field. Optionally, select products in the Products field to immediately assign them to the tag. Click Create Tag to save everything in one step. - Assign products to an existing tag
Expand the desired tag from the list. In the Add Products to This Tag section, search for and select products, then confirm with Add to Tag. Products already linked to the tag will not be added twice. - Remove products from a tag
In the expanded tag area, you’ll see all currently linked products. Click the X next to a product to remove the tag from that specific product. - Rename a tag
Use the edit action of a tag to change its name. The new name will apply to all products using this tag. - Delete a tag
Choose the delete action to remove the tag from the system. This will also remove all product assignments linked to this tag.
Settings & Options
In Platform Settings > Edit Tags, you have the following core options:
- Tag Name: Name of the new tag.
- Products (optional): Assign products right when creating a new tag.
- Add to Tag: Bulk assignment for existing tags.
- Edit / Delete: Central management of existing tags.
Limitations & Special Notes
A new tag always requires a name. A tag name cannot already exist.
When adding products to an existing tag, only new connections are made; current assignments remain unchanged.
Deleting a tag removes all links between that tag and products.
Tips & Best Practices
- Set up clear and consistent naming conventions (e.g., by category, season, campaign purpose).
- Use the option to assign products while creating tags to save extra steps later.
- For bulk changes, use the bulk assignment within the expanded tag instead of editing products one by one.
- Before deleting a tag, check if it is used in filters, segments, or internal processes.
- Keep your tag list tidy by merging, renaming, or removing tags you no longer need.
