Can I See Whether My Portfolio Has Used Up Its Budget?

The Analytics view lets you quickly check if your portfolios have reached or exceeded their set budget.

Answer

Yes, you can easily see in Analytics > Portfolios whether a portfolio has already used up its budget. In the “Budget” column, you’ll find the assigned budget amount. As soon as BidX receives the “Budget exhausted” status from Amazon, a yellow warning symbol and the tooltip “Budget exhausted” appear. This helps you instantly spot which portfolios require your attention. By using the forward arrow in the “Actions” column, you can jump directly to Analytics > Campaigns to analyze which campaigns are responsible for the budget consumption. Filter chips above the table (such as “Portfolio,” “Marketplace,” or “Ad Type”) let you narrow down the view to relevant portfolios.

Accessing the Function

You’ll find the budget overview in the main menu under Analytics > Portfolios.

Settings & Options

  • Use the calendar button to select your preferred date range. With the arrows Previous 30 Days and Next 30 Days, you can adjust the timeframe as needed.
  • If not all relevant columns are visible, use Edit columns to show or hide Budget and Spend as needed.

Limitations & Special Notes

  • The Budget column will only be displayed if a budget has actually been set for the portfolio in your Amazon account. If no budget is set, this column remains empty or shows no value.
  • The "Budget exhausted" warning is based on Amazon’s status field. Updates rely on the Amazon API and might appear with a delay.
  • Also note: The budget evaluation always refers to the date range you’ve selected. If the budget is exhausted for one month, it doesn’t automatically mean it’s also used up for other periods.
  • With very large datasets, loading the portfolio list may occasionally take a bit longer.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Make sure to choose a current and meaningful date range when checking the budget.
  • With Edit columns, you can display only the columns that matter to you, such as Budget and Spend.
  • Use the Filter by… function for a targeted review of specific portfolios.
