Can I Create One Segment for Multiple Marketplaces?

Ad segments let you group campaigns by your own criteria. You can use them on all marketplaces and easily organize automations and rules.

Answer

You cannot select a marketplace when creating a segment, because an ad segment can be used across multiple marketplaces. An ad segment is always created to work across marketplaces, which means that it is available in all connected marketplaces. You decide at the automation and individual rules level which marketplaces they should apply to. As a result, the automations and individual rules included in the segment will only take effect for the marketplaces you explicitly select during setup. Within one segment, you can create as many automations and rules as you like and assign them to specific or multiple marketplaces. This allows you to manage your processes flexibly across different marketplaces with a single segment.

Accessing the Function

In Segment Management, you first select the desired marketplace. If you select a marketplace, you will only see in your segments the automations and rules created for that marketplace. On individual segment cards, you can access the menu with options like New Automation, New individual rule, Segment performance, and Delete segment. If you want to create a new segment, click on New Segment. In the step Settings for Ad Segment(s), you'll find the relevant configuration options.

Limitations & Special Notes

To use segments across different marketplaces, you need to have the respective marketplace profiles connected. If no profiles are available, you cannot select marketplaces in the segment. While ad segments are generally valid across all marketplaces, the automations and individual rules within them only take effect in those marketplaces that were chosen during creation or editing.

Tips & Best Practices

Make your segment criteria as marketplace-neutral as possible if you want to use them in multiple marketplaces. If you have different goals for each country or marketplace, it's a good idea to create multiple automations or individual rules within one segment and assign each to the relevant marketplace.
