Can I Create a Template for the Campaign Creator?

Save time by setting up company-wide default settings for campaign names, targeting, and ad types that are automatically applied when creating new campaigns with the Campaign Creator.

Answer

Yes, you can create a Campaign Creator Template. This template allows you to define company-wide default settings for new campaigns. These settings include naming conventions for campaigns and ad groups, the desired focus, and options for Sponsored Products (SP), Sponsored Brands (SB), and Sponsored Display (SD), including both video and image variations for Sponsored Display. The template is applied automatically when you open the Campaign Creator. You can flexibly adjust the settings for each new campaign without changing the template itself. Each company can have only one central template.

Accessing the Function

To create or edit your Campaign Creator Template, go to Segment Management and click the gear icon Settings. Then select Campaign Creator Template. Alternatively, the Campaign Creator Template step is available during the initial setup process.

Settings & Options

You can define the following settings in the Campaign Creator Template:

  • Naming Syntax (Campaign, Adgroup): Set a consistent naming structure for campaigns and ad groups.
  • Focus: Specify the focus that the template should apply to.
  • Sponsored Products (SP), Sponsored Brands (SB), Sponsored Display (SD): Store default values for each ad format. For SD, you can choose between video and image options.

Navigate through the template using the Previous and Next buttons. When finished, save your settings with Save.

Limitations & Special Notes

  • Only one template can be created per company.
  • The template is centrally stored and overwritten; duplication is not possible.
  • You can only save the template once all required steps are correctly completed.
  • Missing inputs are clearly indicated.
  • At least one focus must be available to create a template.
  • The template applies only to new campaigns; existing campaigns remain unchanged.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use a consistent naming syntax to make reporting and searches easy and clear.
  • A detailed campaign naming structure is important for setting up keyword management.
  • After making changes, check how the Campaign Creator behaves to ensure your default values are applied as intended.
