Overview
You can update your saved billing details at any time. This includes your company name, address, VAT ID (if required), and the email address for invoices. All changes apply to future invoices and are immediately visible in the billing address section.
Accessing the Function
You can find the billing information settings in the Main Menu under Subscription Settings in the Billing Address section.
If you already have an address saved, you'll see the link Edit next to it.
If you haven't saved an address yet, you'll see the message "No billing address has been provided yet" as well as the Add/Edit link.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Open the Billing Data Dialog
Go to Subscription Settings and click Edit next to Billing Address. This will open the Edit Your Billing Details window. Here you can enter or update your billing address and the email address for invoices.
If there is no address saved yet, use the Edit or Add link to enter the first address.
Step 2: Enter Your Details
In the Edit Your Billing Details dialog, fill out the required fields:
- Company Name (required)
- VAT ID (required in EU countries, observe the correct local format)
- Country
- City
- Postal Code
- State/Region (optional, if relevant)
- Address (street and house number)
- Address Line 2 (optional, e.g., floor, c/o)
- Phone Number (optional, for queries)
- Email Address for Invoices (all invoices will be sent here)
Make sure to fill in all required fields correctly and completely. If any details are missing or the format is incorrect, the Update button will stay disabled and you'll see a message, such as "Company name is a required field" or "A valid email address must be provided." Ensure that the VAT ID matches the selected country.
Step 3: Save Changes
Once you have filled out all fields correctly, click Update to save the information. The changes will be applied and immediately shown in the billing address section.
If you click Cancel, the process will stop and no changes will be saved.
If any fields still contain errors, Update will remain disabled or you will see an error message.
Settings & Options
If you also want to change your payment method, you can find an Edit or Add link in the Payment Method section. Changing your billing address does not affect your selected payment method or your subscription period – these settings are separate from each other.
Limitations & Special Notes
- The email address for invoices must be valid.
- For EU countries, make sure the VAT ID matches the selected country.
- Changes to billing details only apply to future invoices. Previously issued invoices remain unchanged.
- If no address has been entered yet, you'll see the message “No billing address has been provided yet.” Please enter your details to enable invoicing.
Tips & Best Practices
- Keep your email address for invoices up to date so you don't miss any invoices.
- Enter your VAT ID accurately and include the country prefix where required.
- Use the Address Line 2 field for additional information such as department or c/o to avoid delivery issues.
- After clicking Update, double-check the displayed billing details to spot and correct any typos right away.
