Can I Change My Account Email Address?

Update the email address linked to your BidX account for login and notifications—here's how to change it, what to keep in mind, and your available options.

Overview

In your account settings, you can easily change your currently saved account email address. The change takes effect immediately: from that moment, you will use the new email address to log in and receive all future notifications and security-related emails there.

Accessing the Function

You can find this option under Account Settings in the Personal Settings section, listed as Account Email Address.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: View Your Email Address

First, navigate to Account Settings and choose Personal Settings. In the Account Email Address area, you will see your currently registered email. If you cannot find this option, you may not have the required permissions. In this case, please contact an administrator.

Step 2: Enter New Email Address

In the Account Email Address field, enter your desired new address. The input field only accepts valid formats such as example@company.com or team@business.com. If you do not change the address, it will remain as is and will not update.

Step 3: Save Your Changes

Click Update to save your new email address. After saving successfully, you’ll see a notification such as "Your email address has been changed successfully." If the new address matches your old one, you’ll see "The email address has not changed and was not updated." If the address is already in use by another account, you’ll get the message "The email address is already taken and cannot be used." If there’s a saving error, a suitable error message is shown. Make sure to adjust your entry and save again if the email format is invalid.

Step 4: After the Change

You can now use your new email address to log in. All notifications and two-factor authentication codes will be sent to this address, provided you have email set as your security method.

Settings & Options

In Personal Settings, you can also update your account name or password in addition to your account email address. Use the Update button to save any changes.

If you use two-factor authentication via email, your current account email is always used – any change here takes effect immediately.

Limitations & Special Notes

Your new email address must be unique and in a valid format. If there’s no actual change – meaning the new address is the same as the old one – no update will occur. No additional confirmation email is required; the change takes effect right away. Your access rights determine if you can see and use this section. If you are missing permissions, contact your administrator or BidX support.

Tips & Best Practices

Whenever possible, use a shared role address such as marketing@company.com or support@yourbusiness.com if multiple people manage the account or coverage is needed. After changing your address, check the inbox for your new email – especially if you use email for two-factor authentication, so that you do not miss important access codes. Inform your team about the new login email so everyone is up to date. If the email change also means a change in account role, consider updating your password at the same time.
