Overview

Segments allow you to group campaigns based on custom criteria. Within each segment, you can set up multiple automations, individual rules, and one-time rules. You can create as many of these entries as you need for every campaign within their segments. The order of execution is important: all rules and automations in a segment are executed strictly from top to bottom. This lets you set clear priorities and prevent conflicts between different adjustments.

Accessing the Function

You can find Segment Management directly in the main menu under Automation. Inside each segment card, you'll see the buttons Neue Automation, Neue individual rule, and Neue One Time Rule. To set priorities, use the Edit Prioritization option. You can change the order of individual rules within a segment by simply dragging and dropping them.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open a Segment

First, open the desired segment in Segment Management by expanding it. The overview shows all existing automations, individual rules, and one-time rules. Each rule can be opened individually so you can check or edit details. The order in the list determines what is applied first.

Step 2: Change the Order

To change the order of your rules in a segment, drag and drop the desired entries into the right position. Items placed at the top always have the highest priority. This ensures the most important automations and rules are executed first.

Step 3: Globally Prioritize Segments

If multiple segments affect the same campaign, you can set the global segment order in the Segment Management settings at the top right by clicking Edit Prioritization. In the overview, you can use drag and drop to define which segment takes priority. The global order matters if there is an overlap between segments, as the rules and automations in the higher-segment will always be applied first.

Limitations & Special Notes

  • Within a segment, the order of rules and automations is always strictly top to bottom.
  • Segment prioritization only applies if multiple segments target the same campaigns.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Arrange your rules and automations carefully: put important rules near the top and exceptions or special cases lower down.
  • Regularly check segment prioritization, especially if new segments are added.
