What Does "Incomplete Segment" Mean?

If you see the message "Incomplete Segment" after creating a new segment, here's what it means and how you can fix it.

Answer

"Incomplete Segment" means that there is currently no active rule or automation assigned to the segment. If there are no rules or automations for the selected marketplace only, the message "No rules or automation for the selected marketplace" will appear. In this state, no automatic adjustments are made. You'll see a clear notification directly within the segment, indicating that it is not yet complete. You can use the New Automation and New Individual Rules buttons to complete the segment with suitable automations or rules – either for all marketplaces or for selected ones.

Accessing the Function

You will find the Incomplete Segment notice in the segment overview. It appears directly on the segment card if no automation or rule is active for that segment.

Settings & Options

To complete a segment, the following options are available in the notification bar within the segment:

  • New Automation: Use this option to create a new automation that will automatically make adjustments in the segment going forward.
  • New Individual Rules: This allows you to add a specific rule for the segment.
  • New One Time Rule: With the One Time Rule, you can create a rule that is executed once, immediately.

Limitations & Special Notes

  • If segments lack rules or automation only for a filtered marketplace, the message "No rules or automation for the selected marketplace" will appear.
  • As a general rule: Without at least one applicable automation or rule, no adjustments will be made to campaigns assigned to the segment.
