Overview

Tags are custom labels you can assign to your products in BidX. They let you create flexible product groups so you can filter, bulk add products to segments, or set up schedules. You can add tags to individual products, apply them to several products at once, and manage or delete all tags centrally.

Accessing the Function

You’ll find Product Tagging under Product Settings. To centrally manage or delete tags, go to Settings within the same area and select Manage Tags.

Features

  1. Tagging a single product
To assign a tag to a product, go to Product Settings. Find the product and locate the area where tags are already shown. Click Add Tag next to the list to open the input field. Enter a new or existing tag name and confirm, for example, by pressing Enter.
If you enter a new name, a new tag is created and immediately assigned to the product. If you select an existing tag, it will also be linked to the product. BidX prevents duplicate assignments if the tag is already linked.
  2. Tagging multiple products at once
To assign the same tag to multiple products, select the products in Product Settings, then use the Selected Products dropdown. You’ll find the Add Tag option here, opening a dialog.
In the Please select a tag area, you can pick an existing tag to add to all marked products. With + Add New Tag, you can create a new tag with any name and add it to all selected products at once.
  3. Removing tags from a product
To remove a tag from a product, open Product Settings. Here, each product’s tags are shown as small chips. Click the × symbol on the tag you want to remove. If the tag isn’t assigned to any product afterwards, it will disappear from the system.
  4. Centrally managing and deleting tags
To see all tags at a glance or delete them, open Product Settings, click on the gear icon Settings, then Manage Tags. The list view shows each tag, its name, and how many times it’s used.
To completely delete a tag, use the Delete Tag button. A safety prompt will ask you "Do you really want to delete this tag and remove it from all linked products?" Only after confirming with Delete will the tag and all its assignments be removed. If no tags exist yet, you’ll see the message "You haven’t created any tags yet. Go to your product overview and assign tags within your products."
You can also rename tags here if needed.

Settings & Options

In the Product Settings area, you can reach central tag options via the gear icon:
Manage Tags gives you an overview of all tags, lets you delete or rename them, and shows how each tag is used.

Limitations & Special Notes

When creating a new tag, you must enter a name. If the field is empty, the tag will not be created. Tags already assigned to a product cannot be added again to the same product. Please note: Deleting tags globally via Manage Tags removes them from all products and may affect workflows or filter rules relying on that tag. If you assign tags to a very large number of products at once, updates may appear slightly delayed.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use clear and unique tag names so you can filter easily and run bulk actions quickly.
  • Use bulk assignment with Selected Products > Add Tag to speed up your work and keep it consistent.
  • Before deleting a tag, check if it’s still used in other processes, filters, or by other users.
  • Keep tag names as uniform as possible to avoid duplicates and errors.
  • For quick action: Tag a single product directly in Structure, use the bulk action for multiple products, and central management for removing or reviewing tags.
